Boynton United FC Player Evaluation (Tryouts) Information
Official tryouts will be held once a year; however, any aspiring player who would like to register for Boynton United FC throughout the season with an interest in the Competitive Travel program must attend an open training session in order to be evaluated by the coach to see if they meet the standards for a spot on a travel team. To attend an open training session, simply contact us and we will send you specific times and dates for your age group. Boynton United FC will also hold periodic “Open Tryouts” in order to recruit more kids to the Academy with hopes to improve our current teams or create additional age groups.
Tryout Process
• All players will attend Tryouts based on their Birth Year.
• Online Registration is required for all current or aspiring players wishing to attend tryouts: click Register Now
• Each tryout session will last for about an hour and a half
• Tryouts/Player Evaluations are FREE
• A Parent must accompany the player to the 1st tryout session in order to sign the registration documents
• We recommend attending as many tryout sessions as possible
• Coaches will make phone calls to those who will be invited to join a team
If you are unable to attend Tryouts but still want to be considered for selection for a team, you must still register for the tryouts. Make sure to let the Club know that you will not be able to make it to the tryout period so that another date can be set for the player to be evaluated.
When evaluating players during the season or at the tryout/player evaluation sessions, the Technical Staff evaluates each player in four different areas:
• Technical - Individual ball mastery (skills).
• Tactical - The ability to make decisions on and off the ball.
• Physical - Measure the speed, strength and agility standards of the player (abilities) and
• Mental - the competitive psychological traits of the player or competitive nature of the player
In the Technical, Tactical, and Physical areas players are evaluated on the speed to which they can execute skill with success, decide when and what to do and their movement around the field. In the Mental area or psychological competitiveness, players are evaluated on their competitive toughness such as will to win, work rate and willingness to learn.
Therefore we strongly recommend that players, returning and aspiring, attend as many of the tryout sessions as possible to give themselves the best opportunity to be evaluated.

Player Acceptance Process
By your participation in our tryout process you are indicating an intention to fully consider playing Boynton United FC competitive program, therefore parents/players must be prepared to receive a verbal phone offer and respond with an answer immediately when contacted by the coach. The coach calling you will be the coach of your team. If you cannot accept the offer to join when the offer is extended, then the coach will move on to the next player and a spot for your child on this team will no longer be held. Once a team's coach has completed the selection process an acceptance email will be sent to the families on that team.
Follow the instructions in the acceptance email.
You will have until 48 hours to accept team placement formally using the emailed instructions and pay the registration fees due.
Players are encouraged to attend all remaining tryouts unless otherwise notified or arranged.
*Please note that Online Registration does NOT commit any player to register with Boynton United FC for the upcoming season but it is important that all players register online prior to tryouts.
