REGISTRATION FOR THE 2024/2025 SEASON IS NOW OPEN!

Boynton United FC Player Evaluation (Tryouts) Information

Boynton United FC conducts official tryouts once a year for players interested in joining the Competitive Travel program. However, players who wish to register for Boynton United FC during the season can attend an open training session to be evaluated by the coach for a spot on a travel team. Interested players can contact us for specific times and dates for their age group. Additionally, periodic "Open Tryouts" will be held by BUFC
to expand our academy by recruiting new players. This is aimed at enhancing the performance of our existing teams or establishing new age groups.

Tryout Process

• All players will attend Tryouts based on their Birth Year.
• Online Registration is required for all current or aspiring players wishing to attend tryouts: click
 Register Now
• Each tryout session will last for about an hour and a half
• Tryouts/Player Evaluations are FREE
• A Parent must accompany the player to the 1st tryout session in order to sign the registration documents
• We recommend attending at least 3 tryout sessions

If you are unable to attend Tryouts but still want to be considered for team selection, you must still register for the tryouts.  However, it is important to inform the Club beforehand that you won't be able to make it to the scheduled tryout period. This will allow the Club to set an alternative date for evaluating your skills and abilities.

When evaluating players during the season or at the tryout/player evaluation sessions, the Technical Staff evaluates each player in four different areas:

Technical - Individual ball mastery (skills).
• Tactical - The ability to make decisions on and off the ball.
• Physical - Measure the speed, strength and agility standards of the player (abilities) and
• Mental - the competitive psychological traits of the player or competitive nature of the player

In the Technical, Tactical, and Physical areas players are evaluated on the speed to which they can execute skill with success, decide when and what to do and their movement around the field. In the Mental area or psychological competitiveness, players are evaluated on their competitive toughness such as will to win, work rate and willingness to learn.

Therefore we strongly recommend that players, returning and aspiring, attend as many of the tryout sessions as possible to give themselves the best opportunity to be evaluated.

Tryout Day

Players should arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of their scheduled time.
Players should check-in.
Players need to bring water and a ball.
What to wear: light color shirt, dark color shorts, long socks and shin guards.

Interested in checking out Boynton United FC and missed the formal tryout dates?

Open training sessions are informal opportunities to come to a training and practice session of a current Boynton United FC team to see the "real" training environment, meet players currently on the team, talk to the staff, players and parents about the Club. Throughout the year, any player interested can schedule an open training session to see the BUFC Club environment. Please keep in mind, any player currently committed to a competitive club team must be released from their current club before they can join BUFC.
To attend an open training session, simply contact us and we will send you specific times and dates for your age group.

If you are thinking of giving travel soccer a try, or if you are considering changing clubs, we want you to know what Boynton United FC is like. Attending a training session can be the best place to start!

Player Acceptance Process

Once your child completes the tryout process, if they are selected for the team, you'll receive an email with the offer. You'll then have a period of 48 hours to either accept and register or decline the offer.

Should you decide to accept the spot on the team, you will need to register and select a payment plan for the club program fees.

To participate in a BUFC competitive travel team, families must understand the commitment required before having their child try out for a team. By accepting, you agree to commit to Boynton United FC ("BUFC") for the entire 10-month season, which runs from August 1 through May 31.

Players are encouraged to attend 3 tryout sessions. This will give you the best opportunity to be evaluated in a fair and comprehensive manner.

*Please note that Online Registration does NOT commit any player to register with Boynton United FC for the upcoming season but it is important that all players register online prior to tryouts.
